Some Ideas to Consider …

  • Choosing Between Symmetrical and Asymmetrical

Designing and building a custom home entails many decisions you’ve likely never considered. One of these design decisions involves whether you want your home to feature symmetrical or asymmetrical exterior home design. Each of these design styles offers a unique look and appeals to different homeowners.

    Symmetrical

Symmetrical home exteriors tend to favor simpler design styles such as Georgian or Craftsman. These homes center on a focal point located at the middle of the home’s design, such as a grand front door, sidewalk, or landscaped area. The rest of the home’s design, including windows, gables, and roof lines are identical on either side of this focal point.

    Asymmetrical

Homes with asymmetrical exteriors often boast intricate or eye catching design choices and include styles such as Tudor, Victorian, and Contemporary. Asymmetrical homes tend to have more depth and visual interest than symmetrical homes because specific components of the home’s design can be more prominently featured.
