  • First Impressions Matter: Elements of a Successful Entryway

    Your guests will form their first impressions of your home during the walk to the front door. Make it count. Upgrading the curb appeal and visual interest of your home’s exterior entryway will make them wonder what is behind the front door.

    If you think your front entryway could use an upgrade consider:

    • Making a statement.  Lead your guests to the front door by making the entrance inviting.  Naturally, your front door is the focal point of the entrance to your home.  Install a custom wood door or paint the front door a bold color.  Installing a stone walkway or upgrading the landscaping that enhances the home’s architecture are excellent ways to make a statement. Step back and take a look at the entryway. What would your guests notice first?

    • Using exterior lighting. Proper exterior lighting showcases your home while promoting both convenience and safety. Consider installing a motion sensing light at the front door, low voltage lights near the sidewalks, and lanterns perched on posts in the yard.
    • Investing in upgrades. Upgrading your entryway’s hardware, lighting, accessories, or furniture can finish the space. What would make the best first impression? Hand forged hardware?  New house numbers that make a bold statement? Furniture that invites your guest to sit and stay awhile?
