Some Ideas to Consider …

  • Have a Seat… in the Bedroom?

What is it about seating in the bedroom that gives it an air of elegance? Perhaps because benches, chairs, chaises, sofas and love seats are so often seen in common living areas that it automatically becomes a visual interest when seen in a different type of space.

Because a dedicated seating area in the bedroom is so uncommon, that’s exactly what makes it a great design element. But how exactly can you make it work without looking too awkward?

    • Try anchoring a bench, love seat or ottoman at the foot of the bed. This functional idea is perfect for laying tomorrow’s work clothes, the seat can accommodate the little ones who follow you everywhere.
    • Another unique option is to pair a couple of chairs around a window or even near the fireplace if your bedroom is equipped with one. Both of these options provide an ideal place to enjoy a quiet phone call or take a nap on a quiet spring or summer day. A throw blanket can make this nook even more comfortable.
    • Where ever your seating is located in the bedroom, flank it with a small side table. You can set down a cup of coffee, or use it as an impromptu work area – if you dare to bring work into the bedroom!

Spring and summer offer so many different possibilities when it comes to redesigning a bedroom. For information about Country Club Homes and our custom design and home building services, please call us at 203-762-0550 or visit www.countryclubhomesinc.com.
