Fireplace mantels are so versatile. They can easily become a room’s focal point or quietly blend into the surrounding environment. And now that our thoughts have turned to holiday decorating ideas, why not let your fireplace mantel take center stage?

    • A gorgeous mantle constructed from a rough hewn log looks fabulous when topped with natural decorating elements. Arrange white hydrangeas or fiery red poinsettias atop a bed of fresh spruce greenery, then add pine cones and sprigs of holly berries for texture.
    • A cast stone hearth and complementing mantel with a simplistic profile edge blends seamlessly in a modern contemporary room. For the holidays, continue with the same minimalist feel by selecting elegant glass, silver and pewter decorations
    • Go with the “less is more” theory and float a simple wooden shelf above a retro brick fireplace. Then decorate with all the things which remind you of your childhood like painted nutcrackers, multi-colored balls and sparkly colored lights intertwined with garland and shiny tinsel.
