Incentives for homeowners to do remodeling have expanded, including tax-credit incentives; and credits for upgrading to energy-efficient products. Another factor is that the large number of foreclosed homes on the market often require repair before new owners are able to live in them. Due to all of these factors, remodeling of existing properties is likely to continue as a top trend.
