Some Ideas to Consider …

  • The Benefits of a New Custom Home vs an Existing Home

When searching for a new home, one of the earliest questions you need to answer is whether you want to buy an existing home or build a custom home.  Both have their benefits, but in many cases the benefits of custom building outweigh those of buying an existing home.

When you search for existing homes, it’s highly unusual to find one that meets all of your needs and wants.  Many times you’re forced to compromise on the floor plan, or features like appliances and countertop materials. Also, you may need to repaint and replace things you don’t like.  Depending upon the age and history of the home, you may need to do renovations and repairs. A lot of the materials, fixtures and appliances may no longer be under warranty.

Custom building your home allows you to make decisions on everything from floor plan to wall color.  You can pick out your cabinetry, your flooring and your appliances.  You can plan things like the number of outlets in a room or where to set up your wireless and other tech gear so that you can get the most use out of a room.  Even small details like which direction doors open are features you can make decisions about. Newly-built homes require less maintenance than existing homes.
